Tips!:
It is more important with this hack to hold your excess thread in the looped position. It makes it easier when you pull through, cause your thread is already in position to do your secure stitch. Step 3 shows the example of this.
You can also secure your loop and come up thru the central marking to start your next stitch at the same time, use the same technique as step 2 for reference.
Step 1:
Starting at the central mark, at the same time, take needle down thru & back up, out your outer marking. Again, at the same time.
Step 2:
Pull needle all the way thru, making sure your thread is on the inside of the “loop”, & secure on the other side. Repeat!
I’m serious. That’s it! it is an absolute life saver when you have tons of lazy Daisy stitches to do.
I thought I‘d also share a few ideas for using lazy daisy stitches. Here are what I personally use them for the most, along with pictured examples.
The most obvious, flowers.
2. Leafs. For trees or plants
3. I always do a variety of unfilled, and filled in lazy daisies also. To fill in your Lazy Daisy Stitch:
- come up slightly above your securing stitch
- put your needle back through at the base of your stitch, in the empty space between where you go up and back down to make your loop.
You can also do a double Lazy Daisy Stitch to make the illusion of it looking more filled in. It also give a cool design look to your embroidery
