Here's to our first posted tutorial to the group!

(I tried uploading the actual tutorial, but it was not having it. Click on the photo to watch the tutorial!)

I thought it would be fitting to post my latest tutorial I've created on how to actually START a bead loom project. Which starts by threading your bead loom!

For this beading project I will be making an Adjustable Bead Loom Bracelet Using Hemp Cord

Whether you are wanting to create a bracelet with hemp cord or you want to finish it with clasps and chain link, the process is the same apart from one thing. Which is, you would use your beading thread for the outer threads on your loom, instead of hemp cord (or whatever cord you decide to use).

Have questions about what supplies to use? Or maybe you want to try out a new brand of beading needles. This is the topic to tag your post in! This topic is ALL about bead loom supplies. Where to get it, what brand we use, the cost of the supplies we use. Everything supply related!

Because I frequently get asked the question of what supplies I use. I thought I'd give a brief list and what brands I use when I bead loom

My Supply List:

  • Beads: Miyuki Delica Beads; size 11/0. I get mine locally in-store at the chain craft store Hobby Lobby (in US), I also have recently been getting them online from a few different sites

  • Thread: Beadalon or NYMO beading thread. NYMO is a type of beading thread, and there's also a brand NYMO (hobby lobby) that makes NYMO beading thread

Anything and everything to do with beads can be tagged under the 'All About Beads' Topic!

One of the best parts about bead looming is obviously the beads. If not one of the best parts, they are the best part of bead looming. What beads do you like working with most?

Seed beads are the most common type of bead that is bead loomers use, but are there any other kinds of beads you like to use? What about your favorite brand of beads?

Like I mention in a lot of my tutorial videos, my favorite kind of bead to work with are the Miyuki Delica beads, size 11/0. I also have used the 11/0 Toho beads, and would recommend them as a good round bead. I have not used Miyuki round beads yet, but hope to soon.

Are you new to Bead Looming and aren't quite sure how to thread your loom to start your first project? Maybe you want to try a new beading thread. Anything to do with getting your loom ready to start a project can be tags under the topic 'Threading Your Loom'.

Here is the tutorial I made of me threading my brand new, freshly homemade bead loom for the first time. The video is just over a minute long, and I got over how I prefer to thread my loom when I'm going to making a bracelet that is finished with chain link and clamps.

Thread My New Loom With Me!

*Odd Fact About Me: I usually prefer to make bracelets with an odd number of rows. One of the reasons being, it's easier to tie off my beading thread, at the end, while threading my loom.
